NOTES ABOUT THE ROSTER SUMMARY The "Current Member Records" number reflects all cars and locos in the roster owned or represented by current members, as provided to us by the Membership Committee. This includes all members' operational cars and locos carrying the RPCX as well as other reporting marks, and also includes captive service cars and locos, in upgrade/repair process, stored, displayed and/or siding queens.
The summation of the subtotals by type exceeds the "Current Member Records" total because many cars have more than one vocation, e.g. parlor-lounge-dome-obs shows up in all four categories, as does a baggage-coach-combine show up in three. We also kept the RDCs and Doodlebug in the car category for the seat count, even though legally the FRA considers them locos for maintenance purposes.
NOTE: The seat count is still LOW because many cars' data do not include seating capacity, but it is improving. Thank you for including more information.
We do have several new members that joined electronically. They have identified that they own car(s), but we have no information on them, other than maybe how many. That also contributes to the very low seat count versus the number of cars listed.
200+ entries, excluding locos and freight cars, have no seating capacity provided in the data.
Please note, because of the increasing number of cars that are going into Umler, we have dropped the use of the basic roster input sheet and are now only using the RPCX data sheet. For people that won't be putting there rolling stock in Umler, they only need to fill in and provide what information they desire. This will allow members to start with limited data, and build it up as they progress to having cars or locos ready for movement over the General Railway System without having to change or re-do the data sheet they have.

Detailed data below is valid as of the date shown and for the membership year indicated.
Because several people renewed their RPCA membership as individuals instead of as representatives of companies as before, or 4 museums that used to be members , we've lost a large number of cars and locos from the current membership list. At least one large car owning member has gone out of business, thus we lose their "fleets" in the car count.
When we do not receive full data, such as a group that electronically joins and only notes that they have 5 cars, we input a single line entry for the group, and note a low number of 1 and a high number of 5. That reduces the file size, makes it simpler to search in the file, but still provides the total number of units of rolling stock at the bottom. That is why you now see a smaller number of records representing are larger number of units.
If cars or locos have names, they get an individual entry. If a car or loco is Umler registered, once they start getting the regulated inspection/test fields input, they also get a separate individual entry in order to identify the air dates and inspections for each unit.
